Few days ago, I bought some very colorful clothes. After washing 2-3 times, they all got faded. 😡 How annoying. So I went on my research to find out how to restore my faded clothes. Found this set of brilliant solution. Get ready to unfade your faded clothes.
What makes clothes fade?
Azo dyes and other dyes are responsible for coloring in clothings. This dyes get faded due to some mistake we make, and yet we don't know. They are;
1. Over-drying of clothes in the sun: Sun drying is highly effective and efficient. But note the sun emit ultraviolet radiation and heat which is very dangerous to the dyes and as a result makes clothes fade. So as soon your clothes get dried, take them away from the sun.
2. Washing of clothes with hot water: Clothes washed with hot water in a long run becomes faded clothes. Hot water breaks down fibers and releases dyes quickly.
3. Soaking of clothes in soapy water for a long period of time: Placing clothes in soapy water overnight is a very common and efficient way of making clothes clean faster. But you must note that detergent may have stain remover that also remove colors, which results in fading of clothes.
